Joseph David Augustine Pizzichemi, b. 1989, (who often signs works JDAP) prefers to go by Joe. Augustine is a name he gave himself when he was confirmed into the Roman Catholic Church in his early 20s. He is sometimes influenced by his religious choice in his work, and sometimes he isn’t. Joe is a fan of Video games, Vaping (he makes his own juices), and a Variety of teleVision from his favorite film The Rescuers Down Under, (which can often be found playing in a constant loop on a TV in his room-the color palette of TRDU is evident in Joe’s art,) to Gilligan’s Island, to Mulan, to DragonBall Z, to The Goonies. 2 events in Joe’s life have especially shaped his path: his battle since the age of 2 with epilepsy, and the premature death of his mother when he was 24. Joe’s mom Pam is the biggest influence in his life. Her constant dedication to him and to her own art have most inspired his life as an artist. He also sites Bob Ross as a major visual influence. Music is Joe’s second biggest artistic influence, and he listens to anything from polka music to Death Metal. He especially loves Insane Clown Posse, (his Juggalo name is The Insane Joker and he sometimes signs his artworks with this name), Tech N9ne, Slipknot, The Doors, Linkin Park, Shawn Mendes, and Three Dog Night. He is also an avid classical music fan as his sister, brother, and brother-in-law are professional musicians. Please enjoy perusing J.AW.S. (Joe’s Artwork Site).
